Exeter Rugby Club is a rugby union club based in Exeter , England .
The Exeter club was formed around 1871 and played its first match in 1873. The first team has been rebranded as the Exeter Chiefs and play in a strip of Black (Home), White (Away).
The Chiefs currently play in the RFU Championship and relocated from the County Ground to Sandy Park in the summer of 2006, which has a ground that can accommodate 7,300.
They now play in the Aviva Premiership as they beat Bristol 29-10 at the Memorial Stadium in a playoff on 26 May 2010, their first ever time in the top flight of English Rugby.Chiefs supporters chant the tomahawk chop during matches often accompanied by drums.
